Michigan Audubon offers guided Kirtland’s Warbler tours on behalf of the US Fish and Wildlife Service. These tours are free of charge and depart from the Ramada Inn in Grayling, MI which is an hour’s drive from Traverse City, the northern terminus of the Trail.Tours begin May 15 and are scheduled daily at 7:00 a.m. On weekends and holidays (Memorial Day and 4th of July) there will also be tours at 11:00 a.m. The last day tours will be offered is July 4. The tours last 2.5 to 3 hours. The success rate of finding the bird was 100% in both 2012 and 2011.
